Tryfan is a mountain in the Ogwen Valley, Snowdonia. Snowdonia is the biggest of Wales’ three National Parks.

Tryfan is one of the most iconic mountains in the UK, certainly in Wales. Tryfan is the closest mountain to the road as you are travelling down the A5 from Capel Curig to Bangor. The name translates to three stones. It just looks like a mountain from every direction. Fabulous views await Tryfan summiteers. The most famous route up Tryfan is the North Ridge.

When you reach the summit you will see two standing stones (Adam and Eve left to right). This is a popular but dangerous challenge for those with brave enough to step from one to the other. Take care if you attempt this – there is a serious drop on the far side.
