Snowdonia’s famous ‘lonely tree‘ stands on the edge of Llyn Padarn in Llanberis.

The lonely tree (also known as ‘the lone tree’) is semi-famous photography and natural beauty spot in Llanberis, North Wales. The tree stands alone (lonely, lone, all by itself … get it …) on the shore or what looks like a little island, depending on the lake’s water level.

The tree itself stands on the edge of Llyn Padarn, Llanberis’ central lake.

Photographers are usually all around it, especially at sunrise or sunset on a day with relatively clear skies. The tree has also “gone social” with its own Facebook appreciation group dedicated to the tree.
