Newgale Beach is one of those beaches that has really grown on me. My first ever visit was on a wet and miserable day with the tide right in. Since then I’ve been back numerous times and got so many amazing memories – from surfing, body boarding and kite boarding in the sea. To beach olympics with different friends of ours – a series of disciplines including a beach art round that brings a massive smile to my face even thinking about it. Beach Barbies – part of our tradition when leaving Pembs now. Rock pooling and walking along the beach.

The beach is now very much under my skin.

This view came from an October late afternoon when the beach was pretty empty and Rickets Head was just drawing you to “her”.

This piece is an expressive and playful with bold colour, energetic marks, and a childlike sense that combine to capture the joy, freedom, and emotion of being on Newgale Beach.
