Porthmadog is a beautiful small seaside community on the edge of The Snowdonia National Park on the estuary of the Afon Glaslyn as it runs into Tremadog Bay.

Porthmadog and The Cob

The Cob is a causeway built across the Afon Glaslyn by William Alexander Madocks in 1811, aiming to drain the marshes of the Traeth Mawr. Nowadays the man-made mile-long causeway or Cob is a beautiful crossing – for cars, trains and walkers(the A497, the Lôn Las Cymru cycleway and the Ffestiniog Railway) offering spectacular views of stunning mountains to one side and the Ffestiniog Railway/sea on the other.

Known locally as ‘Port’ Porthmadog is a great place to stay and explore Snowdonia and the coastline of the Llŷn Peninsula. Porthmadog is a busy harbour town, with a range of shops and attractions. Nearby Black Rock Sands, a popular wide sandy beach with low-tide caves, rock pools and you can drive right onto the beach – a favourite with windsurfers and kiteboarders.

Sadly, we are out of stock of ALL our inhouse frames - due to ongoing building work, we unfortunately will not have space to store our frames so for the foreseeable future we are selling our posters as just that - posters. We can recommend framers and online frame suppliers if you would like any recommendations.
