Porthgain Travel Poster, Pembrokeshire.

The renowned village of Porthgain, a beautiful harbour situated on the Pembrokeshire coast path.

Once a small commercial harbour used for exporting stone from the nearby quarry, Porthgain is now a very popular tourist centre thanks to a great pub – The Sloop Inn, a brilliant bistro Fish and Chip restaurant – The Shed and excellent art galleries. It’s superb location in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park make Porthgain a must visit village on this stunning Welsh coastline.

The harbour was used as a location for the filming of the comedy ‘Their Finest’ starring Gemma Arterton, Bill Nighy and Sam Claflin in 2017.

It’s also a special place for Cerys Matthews the Welsh singer, songwriter, broadcaster and author, born in Cardiff, Cerys spent her childhood in Porthgain and Pembrokeshire.

Cerys got married in February 2003 in the small Rehoboth Chapel, Square and Compass, arriving on the back of a vintage tractor. Then the wedding party went to the Sloop Inn at Porthgain to celebrate including a sing-song around the piano, which lasted until the early hours of the morning. (What a night that must have been!) She returns at regular intervals to soak in the atmosphere and chill out in her beloved Porthgain.
