Laugharne is on the south coast of Carmarthenshire, Wales, lying on the estuary of the River Tâf.
Pretty Laugharne (pronounced ‘larn’) is overlooked by a Norman castle and was the home of Dylan Thomas from 1949 until his death in 1953, and is thought to have been the inspiration for the fictional town of Llareggub in Under Milk Wood.
The Laugharne Boathouse was Dylan’s golden period this wooden structure is renowned around the world for it’s literary and romantic association with the great poet.
Dylan Thomas’ famous lines include
